KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will open a new route to China Cologne

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will open a new route to China Xiamen International Airport in China, from March 27 this year. This will be the first airline to offer direct flights between Xiamen and Europe.
"With this seventh destination in Greater China, KLM strengthens its position in this rapidly growing market. In Europe, KLM is the company offering the largest number of flights to China (China, Hong Kong and Taiwan). With the addition of this route will have 43 weekly flights to this country, " said Peter Hartman, president of KLM.
The new assignment was announced as part of a press conference in Xiamen, where the deputy mayor of the city, Pan Shijian, and Peter Hartman, signed a partnership agreement.
"China Southern Airlines is very pleased with this new KLM flight, a milestone in our cooperation," said Zhao Xiao Song, Vice President of International Affairs and Alliances China Southern Airlines.
Xiamen is the second largest city in Fujian province, with a population of 3 million inhabitants. Due in part to its favorable geographical location, Xiamen is experiencing rapid economic growth attracting major international companies. The city is also a tourist destination with interesting cultural and historical emblems.
The new service will be operated on Boeing 777-200ER, with capacity for 318 passengers (35 in World Business Class and 283 in Economy), three times a week. Flight KL883 will depart Schiphol (Amsterdam) on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, returning the next day. The return flight, KL884, will take off from Xiamen on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, arriving at Amsterdam the same day.
