Malvinas (Partido de Pilar - Buenos Aires)

Last Sunday, I visited with some friends this monument, it was very exciting, thinking that relatives and friends of the fallen, unable to go to the Falklands to pay their tributes to do here, very close to home, more often.

The Provincial Route 28 (road to General Rodriguez), km. 8, is the Monument to the Falklands, which opened on Thursday, April 2, 1992.
This monument located in an area of \u200b\u200b6 hectares, consists of a cenotaph with 649 crosses on which is identified by name, last name, weapon and the total extent of our heroes died in the Falklands feat. In the same terrain there is an exact replica in shape, measures and ornaments of the Catholic chapel "Santa Maria" of Puerto Argentino.
The monumental work through which permanent pays tribute to those who fought to defend the sovereignty of Malvinas is due to our effort and personal commitment of Dr. Jose Femández priest, president of the Center for Civil War Veterans "Operation Malvinas *; Military Chaplain Technical High School of the Argentine Army, spiritual support of Horse Grenadiers Regiment "General San Martín", president of the San Martin Cultural "Brigadier General John Martin of Pueyrredón.
The objectives of this monument are to give to family, friends and people of good will, a gathering place where honor the memory of those who gave their lives for the Homeland. Contribute to the unity, peace and concord of the Argentine people rescuing their spiritual values. The Cenotaph and the chapel can be visited daily, the Father Femández, personally attending to those who attend the site providing details of the work which by its nature is unique in the world, died and is buried in the same place.
